About Erik Kormos
Dr. Erik Kormos has a decade of experience in secondary and higher education. Currently, he teaches Advanced Placement (AP) U.S. History and World History at Colegio Karl C. Parrish, an American-accredited K-12 school in Barranquilla, Colombia. Also, he served as KCP’s middle grades social studies teacher and curriculum coordinator for four years. Within higher education, he taught teacher education and communication courses at Indiana (PA) University and Pennsylvania Highlands Community College. His scholarship examines the intersection of social justice and instructional technology. More specifically, it investigates how teachers use technology in various geographic settings to promote equity amongst underrepresented populations. His manuscripts are published in the peer-reviewed journals Contemporary Issues in Technology and Teacher Education-Social Studies and Computers in the Schools, along with regional, national and international conference proceedings. Dr. Kormos earned a PhD in Instructional Technology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in Urban Education, from Cleveland (Ohio) State University.
